The learning centre is situated near the border with Myanmar in Mae Salong district and is an initiative of the Royal Princess to provide a continuing education in agriculture to students who graduate from the Border Patrol Schools.
The village of San Klang is located in Tambon Huai Chompoo, Muang District, Chiang Rai Province and is populated by approximately 130 people of the Ahka hill tribe ethnic group. When the village water supply was inspected in 2010.
The village of Huai Wad is in Chae Hom district, Lampang Province and is populated by some 370 people of the Lahu ethnic group. This village was also inspected in 2008 and found to be reliant on water being trucked in for six months of the year.
The village on Pong Hai is in Mae Ai district, Chiang Mai Province and is comprised of approximately 450 people of the Lahu hill tribe ethnic group. An inspection of the water supply system at Pong Hai in 2008 was found to have high levels of turbidity and unacceptable levels of coli form.
The village of Huai Lue is located about 40 kilometres from Chiang Rai and is populated by Lahu people. A village leader approached the foundation for assistance in repairing an irrigation canal which had been damaged by road works and flooding.
